A short trip to Lake Chira - Roman Buczynski
I haven’t done much fishing this winter due to the horrible weather conditions we have had in the UK. However I had an option of trying to fish out in Gran Canaria for a weekend on the famous Lake Chira. With only 2 fishing days to play with getting a few quick bites was very important.
The hosts for my trip were The Canary Carp Crew and when I arrived at the lake I went straight down to the rocky bank side to have a good luck around. With the previous knowledge I had gleaned I baited up a point area with around 2kg of Air Dried 20mm Grange rolled by the Bait and Feed Company. This bait was from one of my previous trips nearly a year ago and the bait still looked and smelled as good as ever and as they were air dried I had much more confidence than using shelf life bait.
The next day I was up early and made my way down to the swim on walking down to the lake I saw a fish show right over my baited area and I took a bearing from my swim and prepared a rig using Fusion dumbbell hook bait and a topper a Bait and Feed Company Juicy Pineapple Pop up. I attached a pva bag of mini shrimp pellet and flicked it out. I nestled the rod in between some rocks and planned my next position for my remaining rod, no sooner had I turned then the spool whirred off with a 28lb fully scaled. The action continued with 5 fish to over 31lbs in less then 10 hours angling time.
Thanks again Bait and Feed Company for providing bait that does the business in every country I have fished in! |

Hi all at the Bait and Feed Company
The website looks brilliant - just been having a good look through it - great stuff!!
I actually ventured out for the first time this year to a local water, it's not been fishing well but the weather looked right and I ended up landing two fish and losing another. All takes came on the BYT pop ups over BYT freebies. Not the giggest in the world but a pretty one for sure and my first of 2008!!
Thanks for everything.
Cheers Steve

Hi There,
My picture appeared in Carp Talk issue 686 see attached jpg and look at the bottom of the page. Your advert mentions that when this happens I should write to you for a free gift. Of the selection listed - The 5kg of Pro-action Pellets sound good to me!
I had originally bought the Air dried Nash Scopex for a trip to France which did not go to well as the lake was full of boilies rotting in all the margins. So I used the bait at home on Layer pits and had a 16 fish hit in a day including 2 thirties! So the bait was good!
Having spoken with David and heard he finds it hard to get the time to get out fishing himself - it was nice to see him in November's Carpworld holding a nice thirty pound Mirror - Nicely done, congratulations!
Kind Regards - Terry White

Just a quick note to thank you on what seems to be the best Fusion bait I have yet received. Fresh as rolled and the paste was rolled to perfection. I have bought the bait from three different suppliers and until now not found any that match the quality that you have.
Pat your rolling team on the back for the quality. I only hope that it is as good in the early part of next season (River Season).
I will be in touch in the very near future.
All the best

This is one of a two fish capture last weekend. Only my second weekend fishing this year!! The first fish was a nice 32lb mirror caught on the Saturday. This one weighed in at 45lb 6oz. Yet again the mix is a winner!!
Year in year out I have to say the bait you roll for me is of top quality and the service is second to none. I appreciate the advice regarding bait given by yourselves whenever I visit. Long may it continue.
All the best

Hi Dave,
Just thought I would let you know how we got on in France a week ago. Ronny and I took the Matrix you rolled for us plus a bit of mass bait, (hemp and mini maize). There were seven anglers on the lake for the week and 14 carp to 50lbs were caught. The good news is we had eight of them, and the biggest (and a catfish at 53lbs). Nobody came close. My best fish were 50lb 03oz, 45lb 08oz, 42lb 03oz. This is not an easy water and when your catch as we did it proves the bait was spot on. Many thanks.

Hi Dave
Had a bit of luck the other day on a local gravel pit. I have never caught a Carp off the bottom from there until now - a 45lb 8oz Mirror, and a new PB! This Carp had not been caught since April, just could not resist a tiny bag of your Mini Combo Pellets.
Thanks for your support Dave, and your quality baits & services.
Kind Regards

I was going to Cassien for a trip and needed some baits that were a little bit bigger than usual to protect against the crays and poisson chat. Speaking to the guru of all things Cassien, aka 'Briggsy' for advice, he recommended Dave Coakley at the Bait Company, whose kit he has been using for quite some time. Although I’ve known Dave for a few years I’d never used his services but with a recommendation from Briggsy you can’t go wrong. I must say that the service was brilliant, and I got my bait through very soon after ordering it with no fuss. It came in paper bags split into 5kg amounts and when I got them out of the bags the bait looked superb. Perfectly rolled and just right. Confidence in a bait is very important. A boilie certainly isn’t just a boilie and I am very very fussy when it comes to my baits but these looked spot on. I used them with confidence and the rest is history. A new pb at 63.12 and from Cassien as well made it even more special. Thanks Dave for a great service. You’ll certainly be seeing my cheque book again.

Hi chaps
This is a picture of my new personal best mirror carp 36lb 5oz. It
was part of a 42 fish haul over six days including 24 different 20's,
all of which were caught using trigga red boilies, rolled and supplied
by yourselves. They were a real edge as most other anglers on the lake
really struggled.
I will be ordering agaiin very soon!

Hi David,
Here are three more catch pictures from France using your excellent bait.
The first is a rather ugly 22lb mirror, the second is a 27lb 3oz leather (new leather pb), and the third was a beautiful 25lb 5oz mirror all caught within the first four hours of arriving at the venue. Once again I must say thay bait provided by yourseleves was a real edge over the other anglers on the lake and I would reccomend your company to any angler hoping to improve their PB!!

Crafty Carper's Associate Editor Lewis Porter recently bagged this chunky 35lb 2oz mirror whilst fishing a 48-hour session on a Cambridgeshire Gravel Pit.
The fish fell to a Dynamite Baits boilie which was fished in conjunction with a PVA bag of Shrimp Meal Micro pellets from the Bait and Feed Company.

Dear Dave,
This fish of 9lb 2oz was caught wihile the River Kennet was very high after the recent rain. A feeder packed with marine halibut groundbait, along with a halibut pellet on a hair. The feeder was placed on a bend where the flow was a little slower and after ten minutes the rod was nearly pulled off the rest and after a heavy fight in the current the barbel came to the net.
Best wishes

Dear Dave,
Please find attached a picture of my 27lb Common. This was caught using on of
your high viz pineapple pop-ups with particle 42 mixed with liquid 42 in a
PVA bag. This was cast about 50 yards to a bait spot of hot and spicy hemp
with trout pellets.
Best wishes

Dear David
The KG1 bait that you kindly rolled for me has once again scored well on a recent overnight session, while fishing at the notoriously moody Kingfisher Lake, in Norfolk. Not knowing the water at all, I found a silt patch at around 60yds out from a swim which I think is known as The Point. The fishing of late at Kingfisher has been very patchy, with not much to report capture wise and also several of the bigger carp have not been out for a while. Once I had located the spot with the aid of a marker rod, I fed around a kilo of the 10mm KG1 boilies and a few chopped larger KG1 boilies that your company had rolled for me. I also mixed in a small amount of hemp and settled down for the night ahead. At around half seven the following morning I received a slow take on my left-hand rod, fished just off the left-hand side of the silt patch. A short while later I slid the net under a chunky 32lb 6oz carp that had picked up my triple 10mm KG1 hook bait! |

Hi
I appeared in last weeks carp talk week ending 12th June on page 8 with a 48lb3oz common, would it be possible to have 2 tubs of flouro pop-ups, as it mentions that the bait is supplied and rolled by you in the catch report.
Cheers

Just a quick note to say thank you very much for helping me out with bait choice and for an outstanding, professional service, along with quick delivery (although the missus wasn't too impressed being woken up at 8am to be greeted by 10kg of carp bait!!!).
I will definitely be recommending your company to others.
Thanks again- top service.

Dear David
Please find with this email picture of the 29lb 4oz mirror from Mid Kent Fisheries, Chillham Mill. The carp was part of a six fish catch in the recent Fish With The Stars event.
The bait was the ever faithful Richworth KG1 rolled by your good selves, fished in a small solid PVA bag with a scattering of chopped KG1 boilies and Halibut pellets.
Being this is the first time I have ever had bait rolled for me by someone else, I have to add that the texture, colour and consistency of the bait is spot on. I’m also very impressed with the fact that I was able to get hold of certain sizes of KG1 baits that aren’t commercially available, and suit better to my own angling situations.
Many thanks

Each spring I undergo a metamorphosis along with the rest of nature. I emerge from my esox lucius-pursuing chrysalis and turn into a keen carp-hunting machine! The transition this year was seamless, as I decided to continue fishing on a local pit for a few weeks before my annual carp campaign on Linch Hill.

Choosing the right bait for that special foreign carp fishing holiday.
Thousands of UK anglers’ make the trip across the Channel every year to fish one of the many holiday type venues. These sorts of holidays certainly don’t come cheap and you want to give yourself the best chance of catching your dream fish rather than shelling out loads of your hard earned cash and wasting holiday time whilst sat behind static rods.

Had been Visiting my local syndicate for about a week pre-baiting with The Pro Actions to a large bed of Lily pads around 20 yards out.
I arrived at the lake on the following saturday at around 4am as wanted to make sure I got MY swim. At around 12 O'clock that day, 8 hours into the session i had only had a 12lb'er and was contemplating packing up. On one of my last casts, i went a couple metres just to the left of the lily's with a bag of pro-actions and salmon pellets. This was after something Dave Wiles said to try, as sometimes the biggens often hang back and pick up scraps! After a couple hours the rod went off to present this 28lb 8oz common, one of very few larger fish in the lake, and also the largest fish from the lake for around the last 6months due to massive lily coverage!!
The following week i used the same tactic to present 3 fish of 17lb 2oz, and 18lb and a littlen... needless to say the advice worked!!

Had no plans on doing much weekend just past but for some reason on mothers day morning I was wide awake at 4.15 so I left the wife snoring in bed and creeped out the house. I loaded the van up and drove off down the lake the wind was gailforce and coming in a north direction this was spot on as I'd been pre baiting a snag on the north of the lake with about 1/2 kg of scopex squid livers a week, for sometime now, and thinking our friends would like some peaceful calmer water out of the cold wind I knew were to drop my line in .
