BAIT FOR THE SPECIALIST ANGLER
The Bait & Feed Company has been supplying bait to the retail market since 1999. We offer a comprehensive range of baits such as boilies, pellets, particles & ground baits via our mail order department & more recently through our shop. We pride ourselves on our customer care & our business philosophy is to provide anglers with products that we believe have fish catching potential. The same customer care is applied whether you buy 1 tub of pop ups or 100kg of boilies & our sales team is always available to offer you impartial advice thereby ensuring that you order products best suited to your method of fishing. Hopefully this brochure will contain a product or products that will enable you to fulfil your angling dreams. No matter where you fish or how you fish I am confident we have a product to suit your needs.
BOILIES
Bait is an extremely personal affair, especially boilies, to most anglers. Most of us have started out using shelf-life ready mades & then someone, somewhere introduced us to freezer baits & that was it, our catch rates improved but our problems grew even bigger. Why ? There are so many good freezer baits on the market, which one do you choose, do you
go with the so called ‘going’ bait on your water or do you do something different, a BIG problem. All the boilies that we sell have been tried & extensively tested by the manufacturers themselves & the pellets/particles have been hand selected by ourselves for their fish catching potential. Therefore you know that any bait you choose from the range is a quality bait, however in certain regional areas there is a bias towards certain baits. A good guide is to find out what is catching on your water or get together with some mates and make a bait the ‘going’ one. We offer baits from all the large carp bait manufacturers such as Mainline, Hutchinson, Solar, Richworth, Premier, Dynamite, Nutrabaits, Nash, Essential, Carp Company, CC Moore, Mistral & our own Bait & Feed Company range.
Taking boilies abroad: You have 3 decisions – freezer baits, air dried freezer baits or shelf life ready mades. Personally I would always take the bait that I am using in the U.K, it’s what I have got faith in so why on earth change it. If the lake has got freezers then I would take fresh freezer baits & if there are no freezers I would take air dried. In a few circumstances I would take shelf
Life’s. We offer air drying & I would strongly advise using this facility as opposed to doing it yourself. Contrary to what you read proper air drying needs the correct facilities, especially in this country where the air temperatures are so changeable.
Bottom Baits & Pop Ups: Another one of those big problems, whether to fish pop ups or bottom baits. My personal favourite method, when using 3 rods, is to use a simple bottom bait on one rod, a snowman rig on another & a pop up fished with a weight just below the eye of the hook, so the bait just sits up off the lake bed on the 3rd rod. Also more recently I have been using a whittled down pop up on top of my bottom bait thereby giving the bottom bait an added bit of buoyancy.

PARTICLES
Particles have been used in carp fishing for many years now & the 3 most popular have to be Hemp, Tiger Nuts & Sweet Corn. I would say that particles are used probably less now than pellets & this is nothing to do with their fish catching merits but simply the convenience factor. Pellets do not need preparing nor do they melt PVA bags. Tiger Nuts are banned on numerous waters, however on waters where they are allowed they account for a vast amount of fish. Maize is one of those products that Carp love. Maize exudes that certain something that carp find very
attractive. My personal favourites are Hemp, Sweet Corn, Supa-Combi Mix & our Prepared Specials range are certainly worth trying.
PELLETS
Pellets have certainly become very fashionable over the last few years. They are convenient, nil preparation, PVA friendly &
fish love them. There are a whole host to choose from & people have their own preferences. Personally I like combining different pellets that have different breakdown times & different oil contents. My favourite is our Mini Betaine Pro-Actions (3mm) combined with Mini Betaine Salmons & Micro Dot Marines (Betaine Combo). The Pro-Actions start working as soon as they are immersed inwater however the Salmons/Marines take longer to breakdown. A little tip, if you catapult pellets outdo not mix the sizes up because you will end up with pellets all over differentparts of your swim. All the pellets in the range have been picked for their fish catching potential & the entire range has been put together with quality products.
Our pellet range is a genuine & honestly named range. If we describe a pellet as a Betaine Pellet then the Betaine is actually put in the pellet, not over sprayed nor simply named because fashion dictates. There are many pellets on the market that take the bounds of honesty to the extreme & we would recommend that you choose your supplier carefully & yes, you may well pay more for it than some of your mates, however there are a few of us out there that believe profit, quality products & satisfied customers can be combined together.
GROUNDBAIT
Things have evolved a little since the days of mashed bread. In our Product Review section you will see the description of the various products we offer. However a personal favourite of mine is our Particle 42 Ground Bait. This mix has account for many fish over the last 2 seasonS & I mix it 50/50 with our Ground-Pellet Combo, add a tin of Sweet Corn plus Liquid 42 & load it up in mesh PVA bags. More recently we have introduced a Spod Soup Mix. Mix this with water & our Condensed Milk Extract & the cloud in the water will keep the fish in the swim for hours.
LIQUID ADDITIVES
Our range of additives is designed to compliment all our products. They enhance pellets/particles & ground baits. Most are liquid foods therefore they can be included really at any levels in mixes without having any detrimental effect. The only thing I would say is to ease off on Marine/Salmon oils in cold water conditions.
If you want to chat about bait anytime either phone or email me and I will be more than happy to pass on any tips gathered from over 40 years of fishing experience. Assuring you the best of our service at all times.
